Cryogenic Piping Maintenance

Cryogenic Piping Maintenance

Evaluation, leak detection, and vacuum restoration for Vacuum Insulated Piping (VIP) networks.

Maintaining Perfect Thermal Efficiency

A cryogenic facility is only as efficient as the piping that connects it. Vacuum Insulated Piping (VIP) is essential for transferring liquid gases over long distances without total vaporization. However, even microscopic leaks in the outer jacket will ruin the vacuum, leading to heavy frost buildup, liquid loss, and dangerous liquid-air dropping.

Our Cryogenic Piping Maintenance team specializes in hunting down and resolving VIP failures. We use advanced thermal imaging to identify failing sections before they become catastrophic. Once a leak is located, our certified welders can repair the jacket and restore the vacuum on-site.

Bayonet Joint Service

The weakest point in any VIP system is the mechanical connections. We routinely service bayonet joints, replacing degraded V-band seals and O-rings. Proper alignment and torqueing are critical to prevent leaks during the extreme thermal contraction that occurs during cool-down phases.
